The City of Prescott is proud to shine the spotlight on Chief Angela Jordan, is a dedicated public servant whose commitment to law enforcement and community service has spanned more than two decades. Words cannot sum up what she pours into the community and the people around her.
Chief Jordan began her law enforcement career in 1998 at the Nevada County Sheriff's Office as a jailer. In 1999, she joined the Prescott Police Department as a Patrol Officer and quickly established herself as a hardworking and compassionate officer. Throughout her career, she advanced through the ranks, serving as Sergeant, Assistant Chief and School Resource Officer for the Prescott School District.
After stepping away from law enforcement for several years, Chief Jordan returned to public service in 2020 when Mayor Terry Oliver appointed her as Chief of Police for the City of Prescott. Determined to lead by example, she attended the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) for a second time and continues to serve with professionalism, integrity, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Chief Jordan's leadership extends beyond the department. She has a strong love for the Prescott community and works tirelessly to build positive relationships between law enforcement and the citizens she serves. Her dedication makes her a valuable asset not only to the Prescott Police Department, but also to the entire Prescott and Nevada County community.
When asked what motivates her, Chief Jordan shared:
"Always put God first."
She loves serving people and making a positive difference in our community. Not only is Prescott home to her, but she also works alongside so many dedicated individuals who care about our city and its future.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Chief Jordan has battled breast cancer and overcome many obstacles; she treasures her family dearly. She is married to her husband, Brian, and is the proud mother of two daughters, Ebony and Essence. She is also a loving grandmother to her two beautiful grandsons.
The City of Prescott is grateful for Chief Jordan's years of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our community. We are honored to recognize her as our Employee Spotlight for August.
